Ever slap yourself to stay awake?
My eyes hurt from staring at this blasted computer screen all night. I’m hopped up on caffeine (Coke, coffee, and a Redbull) so I would be able to pull an all-nighter and honestly…. I’ve been tired since 7 p.m. I wish I can say staying up these last 10 or so hours in front of the computer, brainstorming/typing away made a dent in the ever-growing pile of work I have to do, but that would be too hopeful and far too naive.
What to look forward to:
Later today (today being Wednesday, Sept. 24) will be jam-freaking-packed with things I need to do and places I need to be. But at 3:30 things should calm down when I sit again in front of the Computer of No-Return to type articles and do homework and phone-in interviews. I may be up pretty late [again] which isn’t smart, considering.
Considering… I’ll be up alllll of Friday night. Coinciding with the Chronicle’s production night is one of the holiest nights in the Islamic calendar. “Qiyam Al-Layl,” usually spent by practicing Muslims praying, teaching, learning, discussing Islam and, yes, having fun while staying up all night in the mosque. And I’m so not going to miss it, because the program is awesome and it’s only ONCE A YEAR. So I’ll be pulling another, if not a bit different, all-nighter.
On an unrelated note: Other than a mac (Sorry, apple-lovers), what’s a good laptop to get?? I’m desperate for suggestions. If it were up to me, I’d get whatever’s “pretty.”
